QSYS Control

QSYS At a Glance

To handle major audio routing and signall processing, the BHS Auditorium is equipted with a QSYS automation system. This sophisticated system is programmed to make use of the system as easy as possible for end users.

The components making up the QSYS system are the existing computer network, a touch screen control panel, and the heart of it all, the QSYS Core.

The UCI (User Control Interface)

This is not only the touch screen located in rack 1, but also can be found on audi PCs, and iPads. This is the may way of interfacing with the system and it is through a touch screen.

The UCI can be accessed on the PCs in the booth (just use the touch screen instead), the Audi iPad, and the Floor PC.

The status window:

This will show you the status of all key components in the QSYS system. It will also show you the status of each component as it is switched on and off. If your Core, Amps, and Speakers show a green 'OK' the system is functioning normal.

Meters:

This will show you the audio levels going to each speaker, the levels will adjust to reflect the level of audio.

Amp Power On/Off:

This button doesnt shut off the amp, rather puts them into a standby state.

Source Select:

This switches between the 3 mixers connected to the system. The TF5 in the booth, the Podium mixer on the floor, and the TF-Rack for school board. There is also a 'Spare' for future use. Pressing a source will route it into the core, and then the speaker system.

QSYS Touch Screen Panel located in the booth.

The Core

We use a QSYS 110f core. This allows us future expansion into other components, audio or not. All audio sources coming out of the mixer enter the core, then the core does EQ processing and switching for both the mixers and speakers. It receives audio signals over Dante, but then sends them to the amps via QLink all over the computer network.
